About Me
Born and raised in Kapolei, Hawaii, Robbie started playing racquetball at 10 years old with his parents on Pearl Harbor Naval Base. When it became challenging to get on base to play racquetball after September 11, Robbie and his family moved to play at the Honolulu YMCA where they stayed for 20 years. After Graduating from the University of Hawaii at Manoa with a double major in Psychology and Ethnic Studies, Robbie decided to pursue professional racquetball and moved to Stockton, California in 2013.
Athlete (#16 IRT Tour)
After moving to Stockton, CA in 2013, Robbie was fortunate to train, travel, and live for several years with the “209” crew that included the Ellis, Rojas, and Diaz families. These formative years taught Robbie how to be a pro and helped him ascend to being a top 12 player on the IRT Tour (2016).
In 2017, Robbie moved to San Jose and continued his training in the Bay Area. During this time Robbie continued to improve his game maintaining a top 16 rank on tour during a time when the depth on tour was becoming increasingly competitive.
Since 2019 Robbie has worked with Cliff Swain to continue his development as a pro racquetball player. During this time the tour doubled in size making it the most competitive time during Robbie’s 10 year career. Battling with the top pros on tour Robbie is again ascending the ranks on the pro tour with a current rank of 18.
Coach (USA Racquetball Instructor Certified)
From 2013-2017 Robbie was a coach in the Stockton Junior racquetball program coaching alongside and learning from Jody Nance, Jesse Serna, and John and Dave Ellis. The experiences and successes during this time catapulted Robbie into being an assistant coach for Head Coach Charlie Pratt for the US Junior National Team (2017-2022).
Using his experiences in Stockton and then as a coach on the Junior National Team, Robbie started a junior program at Bay Club Fremont in 2021. This group of juniors most notably swept the 14&under division at Junior Nationals in 2021, and then swept the 12&under division at Junior Nationals in 2022.
For the last 10 years, Robbie has also privately coached both juniors and adults in person and online.
Robbie is currently in the process of creating a junior program in Hawaii. Stay Tuned!
Personal Trainer (ACSM CPT)
In his pursuit of improvement on the racquetball court, Robbie developed a passion for lifting. Robbie first learned how to train like an athlete at Tactical Strength and Conditioning in Hawaii. After living on the mainland for several years, Robbie started working with Jared Nessland, former Head Strength and Conditioning coach at Sacramento State and now Head Strength Coach at Starting Strength Denver, and learned how to train the major barbell lifts as an athlete. Inspired by his experiences training, Robbie obtained his Certified Personal Trainer certification in 2019.
Since 2019, Robbie has trained clients of all ages and abilities to become stronger for their sports, and life.
